Pete was born to Vernon and Alice Peterson on December 2, 1935 in Spokane, Washington and passed away peacefully on October 16, 2022. He was the youngest of three boys and attended Spokane schools graduating from Lewis and Clark High School. He joined the United States Coast Guard and proudly served his country.

Pete married the love of his life Ellen Shields on August 25, 1962, and together they raised four children. He was a valued employee of the United States Postal Service for 36 years making many lifetime friends along his various mail routes. He loved sports especially when his children and grandchildren were playing.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Marvin and Robert, in-laws Dean and Betty Shields, and several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by Ellen, his loving wife of 60 years, sons Tom (Diann), Jerry (Mary), Jim (Lisa), and daughter Lori (Steve) Waddell, grandchildren Jordan (Amanda) Waddell, Seth (Kate) Peterson, Kinzie (Daniel) Davidson, Zach Peterson, Tanner Peterson, Alyson Waddell, Molly Peterson, Emily Peterson, great grandchildren Poppy Peterson, Boden Davidson, Lane Peterson, and numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews.
