Nancy Mahony was born in Clonakilty, Ireland, in 1929 to Michael and Elizabeth Murphy.  She gained her nursing degree at Sir Patrick Dunn's Hospital in Dublin, rising to become a supervisory nurse in charge of wards.  There she met her husband, Thomas, and the two emigrated to Chicago in the late 1950s.  Eventually moving to Richland in 1964, they raised their three children there:  Hilary, Peter and Ann Marie.  They were happily married for over sixty-three years before his passing last year.

Nancy was an active member of Christ the King Church in Richland.   She and Thomas moved to Spokane in 2016 and became members of St. Peter's Church.  In addition to her children she is survived by siblings in Ireland and four grandchildren:  Erin, Clare, Maureen  and Shannon.
