Antonio
Ferrante
February 25, 1930 – September 21, 2022
Antonio (Tony) Ferrante, 92, passed away peacefully September 21, 2022 in Roseville, Sacramento. He was surrounded by his loving children Vito, Lawrence (Larry), and Jacqueline (Jackie) as well as his beloved son-in-law, Eddie Cervantes. He is survived by six grandchildren, Brianna, Marie, Lauren, Amanda, Jessica, and Vanessa, their respective partners Kelly, Luke, Joe, Justin, Trey, Kiko as well as five great grandchildren.
Born February 25, 1930 in Sannicandro di Bari, Italy, to Giacoma DeSimini and Vito Antonio Tassielli, Tony was the youngest of three brothers, Pietro and Vito.
Because of the long distance between them, Tony was virtually introduced to the love of his life, Elvira Russo, by respective family members. After a two year correspondence, he proposed to Elvira sight unseen. After wisely requesting a face to face meeting, Elvira accepted after a whirlwind month-long engagement. Soon after, the two moved to Spokane, WA where they established themselves in a growing and vibrant Italian community. The two would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in early October before Elvira's passing two years ago. The two are now reunited in eternal peace.
Tony was one of those rare individuals that was loved and respected by everyone who met him. His friends spanned all ages and professions. He was known for his uncompromising integrity, wit, humor, friendship, wise counsel, and love for life. He will be profoundly missed by all.
