Sater
February 20, 1955 – July 14, 2024
On July 14th, 2024, Barbara passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. She was born to Beverly and Harry Frazier on February 20th, 1955, in Spokane, WA.
Barb or "Nana" a name given to her by her grandchildren graduated from University High School in 1973. Later on in life she attended Spokane Community College and graduated with her Associate in Arts degree in March of 1989. She went on to attend Eastern Washington University with a Presidential Scholarship and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts specializing in English with Magna Cum Laude honors. Until she passed away, Barb would frequently donate to Eastern Washington University and was a proud Eagle. She would also donate to various causes, particularly causes supporting veterans. After graduation she worked diligently for Itronix corporation for several years before retiring in Spokane Valley, Washington.
Barb was an exceptional wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She married Patrick Sater in 1973, and they shared 30 years of marriage and had two beautiful children together, Amy White (Sater) and Sean Sater who both live in Spokane Valley. She has 5 grandchildren who she loved deeply: Brandon White, Rachel White, Ashley White, Kyle Sater, and Isabelle Sater. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Dan Frazier and Mike Frazier and her parents, Beverly and Harry Frazier. She was one of nine children and was the oldest girl in her family. Barb helped take care of her mother for 5 years prior to her passing in August of 2020 and would constantly say "her mom needed her" as a term of endearment. Her father Harry was her anchor whom she loved tremendously and shared many of his traits and characteristics.
Barb was characterized by a strong faith in God, a deep love of family, and a loyal and feisty spirit. She enjoyed computer games, puzzles, reading, and spending time with family. Her favorite authors were Emily Dickenson and Stephen King and she was an incredible writer and editor. Barb was a great cook and will forever be remembered for her famous potato salad. Barb will always be remembered as a kind and loving soul who left his earth far too soon. May she rest in peace with her beloved parents, brothers, and dogs.
A service will be held August 17, 2024, at 2:00pm in Spokane Valley at St. Joseph's Cemetery on Trent. The family extends great appreciation to Horizon Hospice for the outstanding care they provided in her last few days of life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Horizon Hospice or Eastern Washington University.
