Bernard F. Chouinard passed away on April 23, 2025, while living at La Loma Village in Litchfield Park, Arizona. After a long struggle with dementia, he passed away peacefully from pneumonia. Bernie was born on September 17, 1933, in Gentilly Minnesota to Eli and Lucille Chouinard.
Bernie graduated from Marquette High School in Yakima, WA in 1953. He served three years in the Marine Corp at the end of the Korean War. While on leave in Yakima he met his future wife, Bonnie Brown. They were married a year later on June 16, 1956. Following his discharge, he started working for McKesson & Robbins in San Diego, CA. He continued working for McKesson for 41 years in Yakima and Spokane. He retired in 1998 and moved to Arizona in 2020.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Avondale, AZ); two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorie and Scott Laws (Goodyear, AZ), Suzanne and Ron Wyse (Aberdeen, WA); one sister Betty Huck (Yakima, WA); one granddaughter Lauren and Drew Peters (Lake Tapps, WA); and a great grandson, Maddox Peters. He is also remembered fondly by his extended family and a wide circle of friends.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents Eli and Lucille Chouinard; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Patricia Chouinard; mother-in-law Julia Lewis.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane. Together we will reminisce and share stories of countless memories that will be cherished forever.
