Betty Jean
Healy
June 22, 1938 – July 21, 2025
Betty Jean Healy passed on July 21, 2025, surrounded by the love and laughter of her family. Betty Jean Bridgham was born on June 22, 1938, she attended North Central High School. She met and married her beloved husband, R. Kevin Healy, and they raised four daughters and shared 67 wedding anniversaries.
Preceded in death by her daughter Shannon Healy Pulich, Betty is survived by her husband Kevin, daughters Tammy Bell, Katie Knight (Doug), Meg Shumaker (Jason), and "number 5" Monica Peone (Tiger). She was a devoted Nana to her grandchildren, delighting in their adventures and achievements. Betty loved Healy family events with her nieces, nephews and in-laws.
She worked for forty years at the Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railroad. She was an adventurer, traveling on many cruises and all over the country. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi for decades, enjoying both the philanthropic and social activities. Betty was known for her "fear of missing out" and loved her social activities with her dear friends and family, as well as cheering on her children's and grandchildren's teams. She loved the annual Bloomsday bashes, Gonzaga Prep teams, and Mothers' Weekends at WSU. Heaven just got a little spicier.
Services will be held at St. Aloysius on August 22 at 2:30, with reception following at Mamma Mia's, 420 W. Francis Avenue, 99205. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Poor Clare Nuns at 4419 N. Hawthorne Street in Spokane are welcomed.
