Carolyn C.
Williams
February 27, 1951 – September 13, 2021
On Monday September 13, 2021, Carolyn Williams, loving wife, mother, and Nana, passed away at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Carolyn was born February 27, 1951 in Boston, Massachusetts, to Barbara and George (Moe) Kramer. In 1963 their family moved to Portland, Oregon, where she attended school and met her lifelong love and partner DJ Williams. They were married in 1969 and celebrated 52 years of marriage in August (what a woman!) Together they raised two daughters: Kelley and Angie.
Carolyn excelled in her career as a computer systems analyst. She settled into a long tenure at Whitworth University, retiring in March 2018 after nearly 27 years. In addition to her technological prowess, Carolyn was a domestic goddess. Cooking, gardening, sewing, and spoiling grandchildren were her favorite pastimes. She would whip up a Thanksgiving dinner on a random Tuesday while tending to her rose garden, and hand smocking a christening gown.
Carolyn loved those around her with great ferocity. She was selfless, generous, and a gifted caretaker who would hurry off to help loved ones at the drop of a hat.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Moe, her mother, Barbara, and her sister Kathy. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, DJ, her two daughters, Kelley and Angie, her siblings Leo, Mark, Pauline, and Elaine and her four grandchildren Claire, Helen, Quinn and Cecilia.
