Charlene Louann
Herrick
April 28, 1937 – February 24, 2026
Charlene LouAnn Herrick was born April 28, 1937 in Spokane, WA and passed away on February 24, 2026. She lived in various cities throughout the Pacific NW during her lifetime. She is survived by her husband Fred Herrick, 5 children, Ron Gibson (Reta), Rick Gibson (Donna), Robert Gibson, Angie Brown (Tom) and Randy Gibson (Linda); 7 grandchildren (Lee, Mike, Crystal, Linda, Cassandra, Shawn & Theresa); 9 great grandchildren and 3 stepchildren (Leona, Otto & Scott). She was proceeded in death by her first husband, William Gibson.
In her earlier years, while raising her five children, she was very active in the PTA's of various schools, sewing on patches, and even did a small amount of showing dogs in the ring.
Charlene was an avid canner and loved it when her children would assist and she always did an abundance of holiday baking. You were never without treats during the holidays, and there was always extra room at the table for anyone who stopped by for dinner.
Charlene was the happiest when she was with her family. She thrived at gardening. She was an excellent pianist and organist. Another of her joys was when she was volunteering at the Cancer Center visiting with patients while going through their infusions. Charlene could win you over with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh no matter what was going on. Some of the patients she met became lifelong friends. She spent her downtime knitting and crocheting and started to get to know the various people at the retirement community that she moved into shortly before her death.
