Charlotte Ann
Bruhjell
February 7, 1940 – March 1, 2026
Charlotte Ann Bruhjell, age 86 passed away, March 1,2026 at her daughter's home under hospice care. Arrangements are entrusted to Holy Cross Funeral and Cemetery Services, 7200 N Wall St., Spokane 99206. A private family graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, March 14, at 1:00pm at Sinto Senior Center, 1124 West Sinto Ave., Spokane, WA, 99201. Casual attire is encouraged.
Memorial contributions may be made to Telecom Pioneers, 9529 Dayton Ave, Seattle, WA 98103.
Charlotte was born February 7, 1940, in Spokane, WA to Kenneth and Eunice Kupers. She attended Marycliff all-girls Catholic School, in Spokane and graduated in 1958. After high school she attended nurses training for a brief time, worked at Sears and then went on to have a career at Pacific Northwest Bell (PNB) retiring from there, currently CenturyLink.
She married Michael Larango and had four daughters. They later divorced and she married Robert Bruhjell and welcomed his two daughters as her own. They also divorced.
She was active in the Telephone Pioneers of America. She made hats for the schools and donated them in the wintertime and did coats for kids. Charlotte was also a member of the Sinto Senior Center and enjoyed participating in many of their activities. She also volunteered handing out packets at Bloomsday and volunteered intake at Northtown Cop Shop.
The number one thing she enjoyed was gathering with family and always making it a celebration around food! Charlotte was so thoughtful, she always mailed a birthday card to EVERYONE she knew. She took so much pride in remembering people. Another joy was her friends, and she made sure they knew how important they were. She had a lasting friendship of 67 years with Lois Slater. Her hobbies included crocheting and making yum- yums for family and friends
Charlotte is survived by five daughters, Lorena Brooke (Ron), Cheryl Johnson (BJ), Toni Larango, Tamara Goad, Erica Owens (John), one sister Pamela Lanouette, one brother Ed Kupers (Penny), three nephews, Paul (Cari) Johnson, Guy Larango, Chad (Kristi) Johnson, one niece, Tyrell (James)Trout, fourteen grand-children, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Virginia Johnson, brother-in-law John Johnson, son-in-law, Timothy Goad; and great-grandson, Preston Palanio.
