Clyde Anthony Enfield of Spokane Washington, passed away at the age of 84 on Friday May 21, 2021. Clyde was with is beloved wife as he passed. Born in Albert Lea Minnesota on August 18, 1936, to Joseph Darwin Enfield and Evangeline Clare Fitzgerald Enfield, he was the youngest of six children. Clyde moved to Tacoma Washington with his family, at the age of six. After high school he enlisted in the Marines before returning to Tacoma. Where he met the love of his life while attended social events at the Cardinal Club, a Catholic young adults club. They married in August of 1960. They have six children, Therese Rose Enfield, Michael Vincent Enfield, Anthony Joseph Enfield, Gabrielle Annette Enfield, Trudy Maria Enfield-Allred, and Lance Dominic Enfield. Clyde and Annette moved with their growing family to Idaho in 1968. Those who knew Clyde know his greatest joy was his family. While his children were growing up, he loved to take all the kids on adventures including fishing in Hayden Lake, sledding, hiking or swimming on Tubbs Hill, constant trips to the park and daily evening swims at Coeur d'Alene Lake in the summer. He loved playing tennis and teaching the kids to play. Later in life he found great joy spending time with his 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Among his passions were books, lots, and lots of books. A passion he shared with his wife Annette as they together collected many books of all topics. After retirement he spend many an hour woodworking, always eager to tackle a new project. Clyde is preceded in death by his father Joseph Darwin Enfield, mother Evangeline Clare Fitzgerald Enfield, and his siblings, his grandson Phillip and great-granddaughter Hope Enfield. His twin sister Carolyn passed away two days after him on May 23, 2021. He is survived by his wife Annette, his children, and their spouses, Jenny Enfield, Patricia Enfield, Robert Allred, Sadie Enfield, and his brother Charles Enfield. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday June 7, 2021, at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 545 E. Providence, Spokane.
