Obituary

Connie Lee Alexander, age 72 of Spokane, WA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 4th, 2023, after a battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Connie is survived by her loving family Sean (Melissa) Blumhagen, George Alexander III, her three grandchildren, Tyler Frederickson (22), Avarie Blumhagen (18), and Logan Alexander (6). Her mother Shriley Mitchel, brother Mike (Rhonda) Mitchel, Nieces and Nephews -Trey, Tammy, Tina, Mitch and Mikey. Brother-in-law Dave (Cindy) Alexander. Sister-in-law Laura (Don) Roberson. She was preceded in death by her father Don Mitchel.  Connie loved gardening, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. Connie was a Spokane Public Schools liaison and was known for going above and beyond for her students. She loved attending garden shows and going to greenhouses with her mom. The two of them could name every variety of Hosta and could give endless gardening tips on a whim. She loved to entertain in her home and have her nieces visit. There was always baked goods and fresh fruit and salads at every meal. She taught her granddaughter how to bake and would allow sweet Avarie to do her hair and makeup after a long day of shopping at Macy's. They were two peas in a pod. She enjoyed listening to Tyler talk about all things science and was always fascinated by his level of knowledge. In the later years she would take any opportunity to listen to Ty play his guitar. She always loved music. Logan was the youngest of the grandkids and she got so much joy out of watching him grow. She often spoke of his love for dinosaurs and astronomy. She was so proud of her sons and the families they had created. She could often be found chatting with her favorite neighbor John Cooley and taking her grandkids to swim in his pool next door. He was always an incredible friend to Connie. She loved going on adventures with Laura, walking through parks and finding a fun place to grab lunch. She loved anything Sean would grill up and would rave on and on about a good meal. She had a contagious laugh and loved to make others smile.
While Connie endured in her later years and eventually succumbed to Lewy Body Dementia, she lived her life to the fullest and did her best to make each new situation a positive one. She moved in with her eldest son Sean and his wife in the final months and was able to be surrounded by family in her final days. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered as a sweet and loving soul with so much love for her family.
