Corolin Jean Lauer Ruff, age 88, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in Mesquite, NV. She was born
May 9, 1934 in Miles City, MT to Clarence Joseph and Mary Eleanor Lauer. On February 17, 1952 she
married Clarence John Ruff at Sacred Heart Parish in Miles City, MT. They had been married for 66 years
before his death on December 26, 2018. Corolin grew up on a dairy farm near Terry, MT where she
went to school and graduated there. She met Clarence and after they were wed they lived on a
homestead near Mildred, MT. They moved on in their journey through life to Beach, ND and to
Glendive, MT where Clarence worked in the petroleum business. They then moved to Dillon, MT where
they bought and ran the Exxon bulk plant. After many years in Dillon, they sold the bulk plant and
bought a restaurant in Choteau, MT and eventually moved to Spokane, WA where Corolin put her love
of children to use running a daycare for many years. They retired in Spokane and had happy years until
her husband's passing. Corolin was a devoted Catholic, wife and mother. She enjoyed yard work,
gardening, quilting, her loving pets, and above all children.
Survivors include two sons and three daughters. Debbie (Max) Lapham of Jackson, MT, Ken (Rhonda)
Ruff of Mesquite, NV, Donna (Frank) Marchesseau of Reno, NV, Kimberly (Don) Hooper of Spokane, WA,
and Brain (Christa Zinke) Ruff of Seattle, WA. Ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and her
brother-in- law Richard Hecker of Ft. Collins, CO. She was preceded in death by her sister Diane Hecker.
