LEWIS, Cynthia Dawn (Heilsberg) (Age 70) of Spokane, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Spokane Hospice House.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church, N. 6528 Monroe, Spokane, Washington. Cindy was born April 22, 1953 in Colfax to Donald and Christine (Filan) Heilsberg.

Her family moved to Spokane when she was a young child where she attended Roosevelt grade school and Junior High at Sacajawea. They moved back to Colfax when Cindy was in the 8 th Grade. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1971 with highest honors and was actively involved in choir and many high school musical productions. Cindy attended Whitworth College and later transferred to Eastern Washington University where she received her teaching degree in 1975. She married Mark Lewis of Spokane on June 25, 1977. Cindy and Mark settled in Spokane where both of their children were born. Cindy enjoyed sewing and singing. She was beloved by all for her friendliness and sensitivity toward others. She enjoyed being involved in theatre and choral productions at Trinity Baptist Church. She loved spending time at Lake Pend Oreille at the family cabin that her grandfather Elef Filan built for his children and grandchildren.

She is survived by husband Mark Lewis, son Matthew Lewis, daughter Kristi Lewis, Granddaughters Breille, Riley, Ariel, sister Cathy Heilsberg O'Rourke, Brother Jim (Sandy) Heilsberg, Sister-in-law Cheri (Gary) Lewis Folk, Brother-in-law Jack (Cheryl) Lewis and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Heilsberg, mother, Christine Heilsberg, sister, Karen Heilsberg Johns, father-in-law, Bob Lewis and mother-in-law, Peggye Lewis.
