David Leon Gray was born June 1, 1936 in Luling, TX to Lon and Eunice Gray. He was the youngest of three boys. His family moved several times settling in the Seattle area. He met Ruth Stone and they were married 68 years. After graduating from the University of Washington, he joined the Air Force and they started a family. They had three daughters Tamera Campbell (Jim), Lorrie Horrocks (Mark), and Patricia Davis (Wayne), nine grandchildren Christopher Rembaugh (Nicole), Shawn Horrocks (Megan), Kellie Barner (Zach), Jessica Whittaker (Jed), David Horrocks (Kelly), and Brian Horrocks, Brandon Campbell (Traci), Colin Davis and Cameron Davis (Tania), great – grandchildren Jasenia, Griffin, Graysen, Sam, Kaiser, Henry, Ben, Lily, Rori, Olivia, Claire, George, Charlotte, Melanie, Madeline, Savannah, and Hunter.

As an Air Force pilot, David and his family enjoyed traveling the world. He made many lifelong friends along the way. He retired from the Air Force in 1980 and lived and worked in Anchorage, Alaska before retiring again and settling in Bremerton, WA. They spent about 30 years in Bremerton before ending up in Spokane, WA. He loved getting together with his Airforce buddies to salmon fish in Alaska which they enjoyed doing for many years.

He and Ruth spent as much time as Ruth would agree to in San Felipe, Mexico. He loved playing cards and games and was very competitive. He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
