Ellen Kelley peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in Lakewood, Colorado. She was born on September 11, 1946, to William Vincent and Adele Martin Kelley in Spokane, Washington.

Ellen's early life was spent in Spokane, Washington. Her passion for the performing arts started in High School under the guidance of Alice Garvin Windsor, and the Dasidrian Talent Club, which inspired her throughout her entire life. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in 1964, then earned her BA in Education from the University of Idaho in 1968. After graduating, Ellen moved to Fresno, California and taught within the Fresno School District for three years. Teaching brought her to Bedford, New York where she taught at Fox Lane Middle School for three years. Her education continued at New York University, obtaining a Masters in Eastern Studies.

Ellen moved to New York City in 1976. Her vibrant life in New York City over the span of 50 years included work as an actor, acting coach, theater director, and tour guide. Her passion for the performing arts became a reality when she created and operated her own tour company, The New York/London Project. The mission of this company was to provide students in the performing arts and their teachers a custom-designed experience in the history and theatre of New York City and London, UK.

Ellen was beloved by many. She made an indelible impression on everyone with her originality, humor, brilliant curiosity, and kindness.

Ellen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter DiCostanzo of 11 years. She is survived by her sisters, Kitty Kelley, Mary Cary Coughlan, Margaret Jimenez, Adele O'Toole, Madeleine Watt, and by her brother Bill Kelley.
