Rose passed away on Feb 10th, 2021 at the age of 73.  She was born on May 7th, 1947 to Antonio and Emiliana Coloma Gorospe, in Manila, San Pedro Laguna, Philippines where she was raised Roman Catholic with her six brothers. When she was 15 she moved to Cavite City for work, and in 1967 she met and married Joel F. Laffoon, a U.S. Navy Sailor, and they moved to the United States in 1969.  Rose is survived by her Ex-husband Joel; her five children, Anthony, Dona, Marlon, Robert, and Cina; eighteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She spent her life in pursuit of the American Dream, working diligently for 14 years for Key Tronic, before taking a huge step by becoming a business woman who owned her own Adult Family Home for over 20 years. She proudly earned her U.S. Citizenship at the age of 70.  Rose was known for her love of plants and gardening. She often spent her mornings in the garden, drinking coffee and watering her yard, which was admired by family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers passing by, who would often stop to take pictures of her flower beds, especially her roses, which were her favorite and were especially beautiful.  Her house was often full and holidays were spent with family and grandchildren running about, holding plays and concerts for the adults, and swimming in the pool during summer barbecues. The kitchen was hers though.  It was a special place and the center of all gatherings. In it she taught each of her children and several grandchildren how to cook, especially traditional Filipino food, a part of her legacy that will live on with future generations.  Rose also loved music and dancing, and spending time with her Filipino friends who made her feel connected to her homeland. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
