Obituary

George Jay "Skip" Bonuccelli, 73, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on March 14, 2024, in Spokane. He was born on May 23, 1950, in Spokane, Washington.

Skip was a vibrant and energetic person who cherished every second of his life. He truly loved spending time with family and friends.

Skip is survived by his wife, Barbara Bonuccelli, his children, Angie Smith (and her husband Matt Smith) and Tony Bonuccelli, and his grandchildren, Kaylie, Chase, and Gavin. He was preceded in death by his father, George Bonuccelli, and mother, Peggy Bonuccelli.

Skip's educational journey included attending St. John Vianney for primary school, West Valley for his high school education, and Eastern Washington University for higher education.

In his career, Skip dedicated himself to education. He served as a Secondary Public Education Teacher from 1973 to 1994, worked as a Public Information Specialist in the Central Valley School District from 1994 to 2004, and later became the Principal at St. Charles Catholic School. He also shared his knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at Gonzaga University and Eastern Washington University from 2007 to 2021.

Furthermore, Skip was a distinguished member with the Spokane Valley Toastmasters Club, the Washington State School Directors' Association, and the Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Skip enjoyed landscaping, gardening, and collecting model trains in his free time. Most will remember him for his infectious personality and witty sense of humor. He worshiped at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
