Obituary

George Siaosi joined the Ma'ae family on the morning of March 21, 1962 in Oahu, Hawaii. George passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2023 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA.

George started his lifelong journey in Hawaii with his father, his mother, and brothers Tafe and Junior. His father was in the Navy so they eventually moved to San Diego, California. His younger years were spent between San Diego and Honolulu. He attended McKinley High School in Hawaii and eventually graduated from Leone High School in American Samoa. He played high school football in American Samoa and was actually crowned King at his senior prom.

After graduating from high school in American Samoa, he lived quite an enlightening life full of adventures. He married Ruth Mane in Hawaii and they had a son, Sia Mane. They eventually separated and he moved back to the mainland. There he met Teresa Mota and they had a son together, Sebastian Ma'ae. They all moved up too Spokane in the early 2000's where they made their new home.

George had held many jobs in his lifetime, bouncer, chauffeur driver, and his final job that he loved the most driving semi-trucks. He loved driving on the open road and made many friends on the way. With his solitary moments on the road he kept in constant contact with everyone, whether it be just calling up friends and relatives to his Facebook connections. He loved getting a rise out of people as well, either with his religious beliefs or his political stance, it was all in good fun. He had a great love for dogs and sometimes cats on occasion. His hobbies included barbecuing as he loved his chicken, as well as his favorite pastime, Bingo at CDA Casino. He made numerous friends at bingo, which was usually the topic of conversation. He also loved driving around in his navy blue Chevy Suburban that you could hear from a good distance.

When you first met George you were just drawn to him, like you had known him for a long time. He made you feel important and cared for right from the start. He had a voice that was so forceful and sometime intimidating, but then you would smile or laugh just to be in his presence. He was always thinking about others in helping them out in any way that he could.

He loved to be around anyone, from the elderly to the little ones. He could always make you laugh even on the saddest of days. His hugs were like being hugged by a huge teddy bear. His laugh will be missed the most, as it just brought brightness to anyone hearing it.

George is preceded by his father, Senetenari, his mother, Faipule and brother, Junior. He leaves behind his two sons, Sia Mane, Sebastian Ma'ae, his brother, Tafe Ma'ae, and his life partner Teresa Mota, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends too vast to list everyone.

He left us with only memories now that will hopefully stay in our hearts forever. Thank you George for being in each and every one of our lives, we love you!
