Potter
May 31, 2024
George Potter passed away on May 31, 2024. He joins his dear wife, Sandra Geesen. He will be greeted by his mother and father, Selma and George Potter as well as his siblings, Emil, Alfred, Wilma, Alice, Ray, Phyllis, Gene, and Lawrence and many other family members. He is survived by his devoted wife of sixteen years, Ginny, daughters Carrie Chapel, Jennifer Quantock, and Lisa Potter. His 13 grandchildren, Kate, Grace, Christie, Garth, Bailey, Emma, Rachel, Charlotte, Isabelle, Abby, Madison, Jack and Nate will also miss him! Evelyn, Max, Archer, Cara, and Winona made him great!
George spent his early life in Valparaiso, NE. He changed schools in the fifth grade where he met Sandy. They began dating in the 7th grade. They dated all through high school but went their separate ways after graduating.
After high school George joined the Air Force and became a radio electronic technician. He joined many of his family members who had moved from Nebraska to California. It was here that his future mother-in-law orchestrated the scenario where he met up with his high school sweetheart, Sandy, who was also living in California, working as a registered nurse. They were married shortly thereafter. They welcomed daughters, Carrie in 1964, Jennifer in 1965, and Lisa in1968. In early 1969 the family packed up and moved to Trinidad, C0.
George moved in 1972 with his young family to the Flathead Valley. He was active in his church and his children's school. He saw God's Presence in all the beauty surrounding him. He was instrumental in many others also seeing this.
After many years George and Sandy moved to Spokane, WA. Sadly, Sandy passed away just a few months after their move.
George later married Ginny Davis. They moved to Moscow, ID. They have been residing in McMinnville for several years where they have shared a love of the nearby Trappist Abbey and the beautiful Willamette Valley.
A graveside service will be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane, WA at 10 am on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sycamore Retreat Center, 21592 Sycamore Tree LN, Swan Lake, MT 59911.
