Helen Elizabeth Watson passed away at Aspen Quality Care Center in Spokane, Washington at the age of 102 on August 18, 2024. She was born January 25, 1922 in Delavan, Minnesota to James and Gertrude Puffer, nee Adams.
Helen graduated in 1940 from Rogers high school in Spokane. She loved playing basketball for the school.
Her other interests were hiking, camping, bowling, boating, and traveling.
In 1942 she worked as a clerk typist for the Federal government in Spokane and Farragut, Idaho during construction of the Farragut Naval Station.
She married her Air Force husband, Marvin Watson in 1950. They were stationed at many different bases in the United States. She was a member of the NCO Wives Club the Women's Rod and Rifle gun club at Dow Air Force Base in Maine. She earned her marksmanship there.
In later years, her and Marvin were members of the Fairchild Outboard Club and the Eagles.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, her granddaughter, Rachel Mahoney, her two sisters, Lorraine Pazer and Edna Thompson and longtime companion, Howard Mahoney.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy, her husband, Terry, grandson, Thomas, great grandchildren, Chelsea and Jonathan and great great granddaughter Revna. Also survived by her son, John Adams and grandchildren Jake, his wife, Lindsey, and their daughter Athena, her grandson, Josh, granddaughter Jennifer Stang and her son, Rylan and daughter Kyla. Helen is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
We would like to thank the staff at Aspen Quality Care center for taking such good care of Helen also known as "grandma".
