Imelda Marie Hammel Patterson, born March 15, 1927 in Dufur, Oregon, passed away May 15, 2021 in Spokane, Washington. Imelda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and so much more throughout her 94 years. After raising a family she went back to school and earned her RN from Spokane Community College and later her BSRN from Gonzaga University. She spent 20 years doing the job she loved, cardiac care nursing at Sacred Heart Medical Center. She had many charitable pursuits, ran more than 25 Bloomsday races and was an avid Gonzaga basketball fan. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Walt and her brother, Leo Hammel, Jr (Bud). She is survived by her sister Jeanne Hammel Robertson and her eight children: Vicki Tallman (Vern), Paul (Mary Jane), Grace Cooper, Pat (Julie), Max (Tula), Ann Ferris (Don), Claud (Teresa) and Tom. Her survivors also include 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
