Ingeborg
Vonbornemann
January 24, 1937 – December 20, 2021
On December 20, 2021, Ingeborg von Bornemann passed away after succumbing to cancer. Inge, who loved music and animals, will be missed by her family and friends.
She was born on January 24, 1937, in Java, Indonesia, to Cosmus and Daisy von Bornemann. In 1952, she moved with her family to the Netherlands where she attended school and developed her love of music. With her sister Yetta and their dear friend Ruby, Inge formed a pop group called The Bee Bee Sisters that recorded several hit songs and appeared on Dutch television. The Bee Bee Sisters have been featured in articles and books on the history of Dutch pop music.
In 1957, Inge immigrated to the United States. She lived in Spokane and then, for many years, in Danville, California, where she worked as a legal secretary. Eventually, she returned to Spokane to be closer to her sister, Yetta. While in Spokane, Inge continued to enjoy music by playing the piano at retirement homes in the area. Additionally, she took great care of her cats and contributed to the Humane Society. Inge also attended church at Our Lady of Fatima and participated in activities at the Southside Community & Senior Center.
She is survived by two sisters, Yetta Powell of Spokane, and Ellie Plaat of The Netherlands, as well as many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Luke, Eddie, Peter, and Mick. A commemoration of her life will take place at a later date
