Obituary

We are sad to say our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather James E. Manson passed away on the morning of July 4th. Jim was born in Chewelah, Washington and was the youngest of three children. After living briefly in Valley, Washington, the family moved to Spokane and lived on the South Hill.

Jim had many a story about hanging out with the Puthoff cousins. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved a good laugh and would always have many jokes to share. Jim loved family, games (especially the games he would make up), cards, gambling and being social. He loved to have fun!

Jim graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1956. He joined the Navy in 1958 and was honorably discharged. He served with the Spokane Police Department from 1963 until he retired in 1988. After his retirement he did sales work until he fully retired in 2000. Jim spent his later years at Fairwinds Retirement Community. He was able to retire amongst his peers whom he had served with in the Police and Fire Departments. He was well-loved by many.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandra, his sister Inez, sons and daughter’s in law Thomas and Kimberly, Richard and Jennifer, Daniel and Pam, stepdaughters and stepson’s in law Lisa and Tyler, Jennifer and Shawn, Granddaughters Monica, Katelynn, Kayla, Richelle, Jessica, Grandsons Bailey, Jacob and Paul, great granddaughters Crestin, Emma, Riley, Khaleesi, great grandsons Dominic, Emmett and Klaus.

Jim’s service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N Wall St, Spokane WA 99208 on Saturday, July 18th at 2:00PM. A memorial will be held at the Onion Bar and Grill, 7522 N Division St, 99208 at 4:00PM. All are welcome to come and celebrate Jim’s life.
