James Patrick McGurk, passed away on October 9, 2026 at age 90. A retired employee of Spokane School District 81.

He is survived by his wife Carol of 51 years, daughter Christine Cummings (Ken); stepdaughter Carolyn Murray; and stepson Michael Merritt Sr. (Mary), 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and 4 nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen McGurk; his sister, Colleen (McGurk) Pounder; sons Dennis and Will McGurk, stepson Mark Merritt and granddaughter Kimberlee Merritt.

His kindness, smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

A private family funeral has been planned.
