Jay Anthony
Faraca
February 26, 1957 – February 19, 2025
Jay Anthony Faraca, 67, entered eternal life on 19 February 2025 with his devoted wife, Barbara, by his side. He was born in Kellogg, Idaho to Ray and Mary Rae Faraca, who preceded him in death.
Jay was a devoted Catholic, husband, and father. He was immensely proud of his daughter and loved her husband as a son. The Faraca family were parishioners at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Otis Orchards. Jay volunteered on the Parish council, Finance, and Vocations committees throughout the years. He was the Knights of Columbus Financial Secretary for the St. Joseph Council #11611 Otis Orchards.
The family loved the outdoors and rode Harley Davidson motorcycles, enjoyed camping, kayaking, and playing with their golden retriever. After retirement, Jay was a school bus driver for East Valley School district in Spokane County, WA.
Jay enjoyed cooking and being involved in the community. He joined a group of men on Saturday mornings to discuss the Sunday gospel readings and exegesis and loved deepening his Catholic faith with this fellowship of men. He prayed fervently, starting his prayers at 3am.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Barbara (Swindell) Faraca; daughter Rose (Noah) Morales, and their daughters of Spokane, WA; stepson Brett J. Wallace and family of Katy, Texas; Jay's brothers Tobin (Cindy) Faraca of Kingston, Idaho; Pat (Suzanne) Faraca of Post Falls, Idaho; Robert Brett Faraca of Kellogg, Idaho; Tony (Brandie) Faraca of Boise, Idaho; and Guy (Lynn) of Lafayette, Colorado; his loving mother-in-law, Mary Swindell, sisters-in-law of Texas (Theresa McNutt, Tammy (Greg) Dietrich, Jackie Garrett), numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
His funeral service will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Otis Orchards, WA on 22 March 2025 at 10:00am. Interment will be in July at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg, Idaho.
