Jeffrey
Jones
February 21, 1959 – January 1, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Jones on January 1, 2025. Jeff was born to wonderful parents, Darrel and Delores Jones in Miller, South Dakota on February 21, 1959.
The middle of three children born in just three years, Jeff spent his early years working on the family farm, wrenching on tractors at the side of his older brother Mike and little sister Cathy.
After moving to Washington in middle school, Jeff loved participating in wrestling and football, working at the family's KOA campground, camping and partying with his friends. Jeff graduated high school from East Valley High School in Spokane, WA in 1978. At East Valley, Jeff met the love of his life, Linda, whom he later married and dedicated his life to until his passing.
Not one for the books, Jeff could fix or build anything. Jeff used these skills to work in a number of trades before settling at Central Premix, where he worked for over 25 years as a Construction Foreman.
Jeff worked tirelessly to provide a better life for his family and the work hard, play hard mindset was one he put into action throughout his life. Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family, including his pride and joy, Jason and Jennifer. Together they enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, traveling and more, including the love of dogs. Jeff was an adventurous guy who cherished independence and did life his own way. When he needed a patio, Jeff poured it himself. For his daughter's birthday, he and his buddies built her a dollhouse. Once, he drove the family on vacation across the country with his kids on a mattress in the back of the pickup. Jeff was at his happiest in the outdoors, surrounded by family and friends, listening to Rock n Roll music with a beer in his hand and his dogs by his side.
Jeff's diagnosis of Alzheimer's took him and the family by surprise, but he faced it stoically and fought valiantly. Having had many health problems early in life, he believed he was never going to have a long life, but that he would have a great one, and he did.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father Darrel in 2023 and is survived by his Mother Delores, wife Linda, children Jason (Amy) and Jennifer (Brooks), grandchildren Jefferson, Brooklynn, Jameson, Brielle and Julieta, brother Mike and Sister Cathy as well as many more great family members and friends.
In appreciation, we thank the wonderful caregivers of Pine Ridge Alzheimers Care Center and Horizon Hospice for the love, care and friendship they gave Jeff as they eased his way to the Lord.
