Jeffrey Robert O’Connor, 75, beloved physician and father, passed away on October 17, 2026, peacefully next to his wife, Maureen O’Connor.

Born on January 18, 1951, in Phoenix, Arizona, Jeffrey Robert O’Connor, the son of Robert O’Connor and Marihelen Sherman O’Connor. He attended Arizona State University and went on to the University of Arizona College of Medicine, earning his MD in 1976. While in medical school, he met Maureen Morrow, and they married before he began his residency in California.

In 1980, he moved to north Spokane and opened a solo family practice, where he cared for patients until 2021, caring for generations of patients from birth through old age. In addition to running his solo practice, he served in the community, on staff and eventually Chief of Staff at Holy Family Hospital, teaching medical students, and with the Spokane County Medical Society. In the early 1990s, he was one of the founding physicians of the Christ Clinic, which provided healthcare to low-income and underinsured individuals in Spokane for 25 years.

Jeffrey and Maureen had four children and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May 2026. He is survived by his wife, his children, Christine (Cameron), Tim, Carrie (Danielle), and Anne; and his grandchildren, Peter, Moira, Aaron, Josephine, Ethne, Kirsten, Miranda, Ryan, Miles, Isla, and Lochlan; his brother, Craig; and his sister, Kim. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marihelen.

A public memorial service will be held at Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church on November 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The service will also be available by livestream on the church’s YouTube channel.
