Jerry W. Hammon
March 19, 1943 – June 22, 2025
Jerry W. Hammon, age 82, of Spokane, Washington, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025.
Born on March 19, 1943, in Spokane, Washington, Jerry relocated with his family to Spokane, Washington, during his high school years. He graduated from Shadle Park High School and went on to become a devoted husband, loving father, successful businessman, and cherished friend to many.
A true entrepreneur, Jerry founded Mr. Service, a respected restoration company that thrived for more than forty years. His commitment to quality workmanship and unwavering integrity earned the trust of countless families and left a lasting mark on the community.
On June 15, 1963, Jerry married his beloved wife, Colleen R. Conrad. Together, they shared nearly 62 years of marriage before Colleen preceded him in death in May. Jerry was also predeceased by his parents, Wayne C. Hammon and Iona Hammon.
Jerry is survived by his four children: Tracy Heinrich (Mike), Wendy Gilcrist (Willie), Wayne Hammon (Michelle), and Shelly Hall (Randy); and by his three younger sisters: Lynne Bronson (Robert), Marilyn Rogers (Dale), and Glenda Hammon and ten grandchildren. His legacy lives on through his loving family and the many lives he touched.
Known for his quiet, quick wit, Jerry's sense of humor was subtle yet unforgettable—his well-timed one-liners never failed to bring joy and laughter to those around him. He was a generous host who delighted in helping to organize family BBQs, always preparing enough food to feed a crowd. For Jerry, more was always better.
An avid golfer, Jerry hit the course two to three times each week and never missed watching the major tournaments. He treasured the friendship of his golf group, affectionately called, "Putts and Dots," and especially looked forward to their annual summer BBQs.
Jerry was also a passionate collector, curating an eclectic array of items—stamps, toy cars, electric trains, and more—that reflected both his playful curiosity and his attention to detail. He began nearly every day enjoying breakfast out alongside his loving wife, a treasured daily ritual that set a tone of warmth and connection.
Jerry's family, friends, and community will remember him as a man of generosity, humor, and dedication—to his family, his business, and his many passions. He will be greatly missed.
