Joyce Marie Hoctor (Walsh) was born in Yakima, Washington on August 24, 1946, to Francis "Frank" and Elizabeth "Betty" Walsh. Our angel received her wings on a beautiful Friday evening, June 23, 2023, and flew to her much-deserved heavenly home.

Joyce spent her growing up years in the Yakima Valley. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Academy in Yakima, where on a chance blind date she met the love of her life, Jim Hoctor. Their lifetime of love began at a summer party and continue until God called her home. To say that they "had love at first sight" would be a gross understatement. The couple married on February 19, 1966, and went on to have two children, Lisa and Robert "Bob". Her family was her life! She spent her days committed to being the best wife, mother, and homemaker.

In 1983 the family moved to Spokane Valley. Her family grew with the marriages of her children and the birth of her four grandchildren, which she adored. She loved the sunshine and would get the most beautiful tan. Joyce enjoyed watching movies on the Hallmark Channel, Seattle Mariners Baseball, and Gonzaga Basketball.

She is survived by her husband James "Jim", daughter and son-in-law Lisa and James Stanley, son Bob, granddaughter Heather, and grandsons Kevin Stanley, Travis Hoctor, and Ryan Hoctor. Her sisters Judy Zwiefelhofer (Lyn) and Darlene Walsh-Martin and her brother, Galen Walsh, and Larry Walsh (Heidi).

She is preceded in death by parents, in-laws Robert "Bob" and Helen Hoctor, brother Gary Walsh, daughter-in-law Donna Hoctor and sister-in-law Laurel Walsh.
