Beloved wife and mother, Juanita Jean (Simonson) Croteau, 91, went home to her Lord April 5, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.  Born October 20, 1932, in Spokane to Anne and Marvin Simonson.  Juanita (Nita) is preceded in death by her parents, brother Marvin (Ray) and daughter Karen.  Nita is survived by husband of 70 years Donald, children Paul (Carolyn), Linda and Stephen, grandchildren Jay (Tyanna), Mark, Leah (Justin), Breanna, Adam and great-grandchildren Cassidy, Matthew, Logan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nita grew up in Otis Orchards, where she attended high school.  While attending Gonzaga University Nita met and married her love, Donald.  When her children were grown Nita attended Whitworth college to finish her degree.  Nita enjoyed traveling the world, spending many joy filled summers at Spirit Lake, hosting family gatherings at her home and gardening in her beautiful back yard.  Nita was a faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Fatima for 60 years.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane and wonderful caregivers for their devoted care during recent months.  In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice of Spokane in Nita's name.
