Obituary

Judith “Judy” Irene (Ness) Adams was born September 30, 1944, in Kalispell, Montana to Henry and Nelda (Bell) Ness. In 1956, the Ness family relocated to Greenacres, Washington, where Judy attended Greenacres Junior High School and later graduated from Central Valley High School in 1962. During her school years, she was an active member of the school band and cherished the many friendships she made.

Following high school, Judy attended Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan, for a year before pursuing her passion for beauty and style at Mr. Jay’s Academy of Beauty. Her talent, creativity, and dedication led to a distinguished career as a hairstylist. Judy managed Glen Dow’s North Side Salon in Spokane before opening her own highly successful salon, Hair Fashion. Throughout her career, she earned numerous awards and recognition for her exceptional hair design skills. She later continued her work at The Designer’s Edge, where she remained until her retirement.

In 1969, Judy married Mike Adams, and together they welcomed their daughter, Tina, in 1971. In 1975, she married Rich Cornwall and quickly developed a love for spending weekends at beautiful Priest Lake, creating treasured memories with family and friends.

Over the last twenty years of her life, Judy faced multiple debilitating autoimmune diseases with remarkable strength, courage, and determination. Throughout her health journey, she was deeply grateful for the compassionate care and leadership of her trusted physician, Dr. John F. Floyd, who coordinated her care among many specialists.

While Judy enjoyed a successful career and a full life, her greatest joy was her family. Her beloved twin grandchildren brought immeasurable happiness to her life, and shortly before her passing, she experienced the profound blessing of welcoming and holding her first great-grandson.

Judy is survived by her loving daughter, Tina (Adams) Green; her grandchildren, Cooper Green (Kylee) and Mataya Green (Trevin Hope); her great-grandson, Brixton; her sister, Nancy Rogers (Mac); and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nelda (Bell) Ness, and her brother, Donald Ness.

Judy’s warmth, kindness, talent, and infectious spirit brought joy to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial will be held July 25th at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Chapel (at the cemetery), 17825 E Trent Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99216, with reception to follow at the Tri-Community Grange, 25025 E Heather Ln, Newman Lake, WA 99025.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Judy’s honor to Hospice House of Spokane, whose compassionate care provided comfort and support during her final days.
