Kathleen "Kathie"
Feist
June 19, 1944 – March 27, 2023
Kathleen "Kathie" Dana Feist passed away peacefully with her family at her side on March 27,
2023.
She was born on June 19, 1944 to Daniel and Evelyn O'Connell in Spokane, Washington. She
and her sister Patti spent their childhood playing together on the South Hill. Patti was her best
friend and her confidant. Kathie graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1962. She
married Marvin Feist May 15, 1965 in Spokane. She worked as an x-ray tech at a chiropractor's
offices until finding a career with Group Health when her sons started school. She spent more
than 20 years with Group Health, retiring in 2009.
Kathie's proudest moments came when she and Marv had three sons, Matthew, Seth and
Andrew. She spent the boys' childhood driving them to all their sporting events, cheering them
on from the side lines and spending weekends at their family lake cabin. The three boys
remember her best for how hardworking she was and how she always put their needs first and
made sure they had everything they needed.
She also enjoyed cruising and vacationing in Las Vegas with her husband Marv. Kathie loved
animals and always had a dog and numerous cats around her. After retirement Kathie spent her
time travelling to visit her sons and spoiling her three grandchildren.
The family would like to extend our thanks to Horizon Hospice and Columbia Landing on the
fantastic care they provided to Kathie over the last several months. Especially Jess and Judy
from Horizon. We could not have made this journey without their care and support.
Kathie is preceded in death by her parents and sister Patricia Bozarth. She is survived by her
husband Marv; sons, Matthew, Seth (Stephanie), Andrew (Hazel); and 3 grandchildren, Simon,
Kenzie and Mason.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in her name to Horizon Hospice or Spokane
Humane Society.
