He went to a Protestant Elementary School in Kimpese. He, then went to a Catholic High School at Tumba in Congo Central. He started college in the capital city Kinshasa briefly then he went to study in Belgium. In 1990, he moved to the US. After graduating from college in the San Fernando Valley, in Southern California, he landed a job as a software engineer in the Bay area in Northern California. When his company was bought by another and moved to Oregon, he was fortunate to be rehired by the same company and he then moved to Beaverton, Oregon.

In 2007, he married Aziza Kibamba. From their union, they have 3 wonderful children Blaine, Henry and Jean Bedel Mandiangu.

After few years, his company closed, he landed another job based in Spokane, Washington. He worked from Oregon but he had to come to Spokane sometimes for company meetings and he would sometimes stay in Liberty Lake.  He came to love this city and eventually decided to move his family  here in 2018 near his work, which is now his final resting place.

Rene is survived by his wife Aziza, his 3 boys, his mother, a brother, 4 sisters, a large extended family and many friends.

He will be greatly missed until we see him again on that resurrection day.
