Obituary

Krystyna passed away peacefully on November 23, 2020, with her husband, Andy, by her side.  She was born in Nysa, Poland on May 5, 1950, to Alina and Stanley Glob and was the oldest of their 3 children. Krystyna married Andrew Kolodrub in September of 1976, and they were later blessed with two children, Martin and Viktoria. The Kolodrubs moved to the United States and settled in Spokane, WA in 1982, after leaving Poland and living in Austria.

Krystyna worked for Deaconess Hospital for nearly 30 years and retired in 2009. Everyone she worked with enjoyed having shifts with her because she loved to joke around and tell stories; it brightened their day.  While her job kept her busy, some of Krystyna's favorite pastimes were going out shopping and spending her time at home working on her various knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch projects. She knitted many sweaters that she donated to St Michael's Parish to give to those in need. Krystyna enjoyed adorning her home with flowers, plants, and decorations. However, what Krystyna really loved was spending time at the lake.

In 1991, she talked Andy into purchasing their own lake property and they spent the following years building a place for their kids, and later their grandkids, to enjoy. Krystyna spent every summer fishing with her grandkids, taking boat rides around the lake with the family, and cooking all of her most-loved Polish dishes for everyone.  Every holiday and birthday was celebrated with traditional Polish food and activities. Krystyna loved seeing her family happy and she always made that a priority in everything she did.  Krystyna wanted to ensure that her grandchildren had the opportunity to attend college and she invested in savings accounts for all of them. Krystyna enjoyed taking photos of the family and created over 60 photo albums to document the family's history, daily life, holidays, and special events.  Krystyna always made a point of keeping in touch with her family and friends in Poland.  Her mom, siblings, and friends could always expect a weekly phone call from Krystyna to keep in touch and share the latest news from her hometown.

Krystyna is survived by her husband, Andy Kolodrub, of 44 years; her son, Martin (Kim) Kolodrub; her daughter Viktoria Kolodrub; and grandchildren Gabriella, Anthony, and Sophia.  She will be deeply missed by her brothers and sisters, friends and co-workers, and especially her family.

Krystyna was cremated and the family looks forward to being together with those that she touched for a celebration of life when it's possible to gather safely in large groups again this spring.
