Lawrence H Vance Jr finished his last and most
difficult adventure on September 23, 2022.
Born on February 1, 1950, to parents Lawrence
and Helen Vance in Corvallis, Oregon, he will join
them now in peace. We who are left behind
include his wife of 48 years, Marcia Vance, and
his daughters Kathy Matsuda (husband Brandon)
and Kristen Morones (husband Tim) as well as his
grandchildren Nicole and Aaron Matsuda and
his brother Thomas Vance.
Larry was a proud graduate of Gonzaga
University and Gonzaga School of Law. He was
a loyal supporter of the Zags. His professional
career was spent with the law firm of Winston-
Cashatt where he will be remembered as an
exceptional lawyer and a close friend. His
personal life included nearly 30 marathons,
numerous other races, challenging day hikes
into the lakes and mountains of Idaho with his
dogs, and gallons of huckleberries brought
back for pies.
Larry golfed his way in sunshine, wind and rain
through Scotland and Ireland as well as courses
closer to home. He leaves us with mountains of
photographs and memories. There will be no
funeral, but rather raise a glass to his life
wherever his friends may gather. He will be
heartbreakingly missed.
