Obituary

Leon Bailly was born Dec 29, 1929 in Riverside, Montana. He was one of 8 children who grew up on and worked the family farm. As a young man, he joined the United States Marine Corp and served during the Korean War. After his military service, he returned home to Montana where he met Irene Teske. They married on February 18, 1957 at Saint Raphael Catholic Church in Glasgow, Montana. He moved his family to Spokane, Washington in 1966 where they raised their 7 children.

He was active as a volunteer with Saint Vincent de Paul in Spokane. He served as a 4th degree Knight and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his life, he was dedicated to his faith. He served as an alter server until he was 91 years old.

He was a parishioner at Saint Paschal Church and Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Spokane Valley. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, playing pinochle, working with his scroll saw and being an overall handyman.

He is survived by Irene, his wife of 67 years, children Dan (Linda), Ken (Maureen), Diane (Butch), Carol, John (Robbie) Art and Nancy (Mike), 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings and 2 great grandchildren.
