Obituary

Margaret (Maggie) Swennumson will be remembered as an exceptionally kind and loving person who managed to stay optimistic no matter what troubles lay ahead. Margaret was the youngest and last surviving member of ten children born to Adolf and Margaret Germann of Wibaux, Montana. She was raised on the family farm near Wibaux, where life was tough during those times, but Margaret remembered her high school years of socializing fondly and riding around the farm on her beloved horse Dolly bareback. Shortly after graduating Wibaux County High School in 1950, she married her first husband Francis Moses and became the mother of two sons. At the end of the marriage a few years later, Margaret traveled to Spokane, WA to live with family. Once there, she found a new start and married her second husband John Swennumson in 1957. They had three children together. Margaret faced another life challenge when John passed away unexpectedly in 1971. She returned to school and earned an associate's degree in accounting to support herself and her children. Over the years, she worked at an array of interesting places in Spokane including; Sundance Golf Course, SPARC, M' Lady School of Beauty, and Spokane Power Tool. After retirement, she did part time work in Senior Care and Volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Margaret always enjoyed working with people and is remembered for her warmth and exuberant laugh. She loved playing dominoes and cards, going fishing, cheering on her grandkids or the Mariners from the stands, making new friends, and Midnight Christmas Mass at St. Charles or St. Aloysius. Her accepting, generous and loyal spirit will be missed by all who loved and knew her. She is survived by her children; Chuck (Lila) Moses, Gary (Betty) Moses, Kevin (Shannon) Swennumson, Jeff (Cindy) Swennumson, Gail (Greg) DeWitt, her nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
