Marie was born on December 5, 1931 and lived her entire ninety-two years in Spokane, spending the past 70 years in the family home. She passed away peacefully on August 9, 2024 at home. She was the youngest of three, with sister Elaine and brother Loren.

While attending Lewis and Clark High School Marie joined the choir and eventually sang with a singing group, "The Serenaders" on live radio. In those days she also spent many afternoons at the Alice household with her best friend Mary (Joe's sister). Marie and Joe were married in June 1954.

Marie loved to travel with family and friends, whether it was road trips with Joe, Mary and Harold, an Alaskan adventure, or a trip to Italy with some of her grandchildren, those trips were some of her favorite memories. She played golf, bowled in a league for many years, and loved playing cards and board games with family and friends. Marie always had a knitting project going, creating blankets, sweaters, hats and more for us and others. She learned to cook and can at an early age and shared her talents with her family in group canning and ravioli making sessions. The division of the results was always a great time! She spent decades enjoying the family cabin on Lower Twin Lake.

Marie is survived by her three children, Matt (wife Paula), Nancy and Jim (wife Kellee), eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. While we will no longer see her at her kitchen table, her presence will always be in our hearts.
