Marjorie Lou
Pritchard
July 14, 1934 – May 29, 2024
Marjorie Lou Pritchard, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, educator, and community member, passed away on May 29, 2024, in Spokane, WA, after a long battle with Vascular Dementia. She was born on July 14, 1934, in Saginaw, MI, to Francis B. Blake, II and Vera C. (Kauffman) Blake.
Marjorie, known fondly as Marge, was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and soul mate of 57 years, John Milton "Milt" Pritchard, and her siblings Nettie Jean Elzinga and Francis B "Frank" Blake III. She is survived by her youngest sister Mary Ella Krage of Chardon, Ohio, her only daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Anderson and husband Chad, her grandchildren Scott (Tabitha) and Kimberly Anderson, and great-grandchildren Callie, Becca, Hannah, and Emily Anderson all living in the Spokane area, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marge's love story with Milt began through their shared passion for musical theatre productions to benefit the Berkeley School District in the Metro Detroit area. They tied the knot on November 19, 1960, and their love endured until Milt's passing in 2017. Marge and Milt were inseparable, except during deer hunting season, of course!
Education was a cornerstone of Marge's life, having received her bachelors and masters degrees in education (Physical Education) from the University of Michigan. She dedicated over 30 years to shaping young minds as a middle school and high school educator, coaching various sports, and serving as President and Chief Union Steward for the local chapter of the Michigan Education Association in Mancelona, MI.
Marge's passion for music shone through her amazing mezzo-soprano voice, which she shared with the world as a church choir director, soloist, on stage, and as a member of the Hernando Harmonizers in Tampa, Florida. Her hobbies included sewing, restoring furniture, and bowling, where she was a valued team member for years.
Marge was known for her marvelous sense of humor and unwavering belief in the power of laughter, often saying that if you could laugh about it, you could get through it, no matter how dismal the circumstances. She certainly touched the hearts of all who knew her, and her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew her.
We will honor Marge with a Rosary at 6pm on Friday, June 28, 2024, and the Rite of Christian Burial Mass, celebrating her life and the incredible testimony of her faith at 10am on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Marge's memory to Hospice of Spokane at

In her 89 years, Marge created a legacy of love, laughter, and service that we will cherish and remember for generations to come. May her spirit continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who mourn her loss.
