Marjorie R
Schultz
October 4, 1937 – May 28, 2026
Marjorie was born Oct. 04, 1937, to William V. Winkler and Alive L. Caplice at Sacred Heart Hospital, Spokane, WA. The eighth child of eleven children.
She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1956. Attended the Kinman Business University for several years, studying bookkeeping and accounting. Was also a member of the local Alpha Iota Sorority for a number of years including serving a year as secretary.
Her father liked to go to Reno, NV. Every winter for several weeks and she would go along. Sometimes mother would come along and they would travel to California to visit older sister Barbara.
After graduating from high school she took over duties as bookkeeper for the William Winkler Concrete Company. This company was started in 1919, by her father when she was age 21. The company is still in business today.
She married her long-time sweetheart in 1967, Ted C. Schultz and lived in Billings, Montana for eight years before returning to Spokane. At that time, she was able to stay at home and raise her only son Steven Paul. After returning to Spokane, she went to work for Leo’s Photography Studio in the school department and volunteered time for her son’s school activities and events.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Alive Winkler. Her three brothers Jack, Bob, and Jim, and sisters Gretchen Curalli, and Connie Winkler.
She is survived by husband Ted of 59 years, son Steven (Gloria), grandchildren Miranda and Catherin, sister Heleene Murphy (Larry), as well as many nieces and nephews.
She knew how to laugh and have fun and with her razor sharp wit, make others laugh with her. She and her spouse would walk Holy Cross cemetery about every day holding hands and she would say: “We look like a couple of ghosts that got out of our graves to take a walk.”
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
