Mary Alice Kenney

Mary Alice Kenney, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026. She was born on October 23, 1940, in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Mary was blessed with a strong and loving heart, and she made sure to use every beat of it caring for others. She was married for 61 years to the love of her life, Charles James (Jim)Kenney, who preceded her in death in March 2020. Together they built a large and loving family, raising seven children: Emily, Alice, Chuck, David, Laura, Patty, and Charlotte. She was also the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mary was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially rainy days that gave her the perfect excuse to curl up with a good book, though she never truly needed a reason to read. She also firmly believed in the healing power of a Wendy’s Frosty, convinced it could cure just about anything. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was truly “one of the greatest little ladies of God’s green earth.”

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charitable cause close to your heart in Mary’s honor. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Parish.
