With great sadness we announce the death of Michael Robert Schmahl. He was a Spokane native who passed on March 17, 2021. Born September 1947 to Maureen and Robert Schmahl. He is survived by his wife Luanna Schmahl of Spokane; daughter Melissa (Luis) Rivas; granddaughter Kaelyn; and 6 siblings. He was a life long runner competing in numerous marathons, multiple ultra marathons, Western States 100 ultra-marathon and Bloomsday. He retired from URM stores after working there for over 20 years. He will be dearly missed. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
