Obituary

Michael "Shenny" Roderick Shenefelt, 61, of Spokane Washington, passed away
on June 4, 2024. Born on June 14, 1962, in Spokane.
Mike's journey began at Westview and Salk for primary education, continued at
Shadle for high school, and culminated at Easten Washington University.
Shenny, as he was affectionately known, proudly served in the Army from 1981 to
1985, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to his country. Following his
military service, he pursued a career path that led him to learn the art of laying
tile, working in sales at Edward's Engines and Frito Lay, and eventually serve for
30 plus years at the Washington State Attorney General's office.
His vibrant personality was evident to all who knew him. Shenny was always
positive, upbeat, and quick sarcasm and a joke. He was known for his helpful
nature and his ability to bring a smile to those around him.
In his personal life Mike cherished his relationships with his wife, Kristy, his
children Alicia and Nick, his brothers Jimmy (Lauri) and Steve, and Pahat (Patty).
Along with numerous nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary, father Jim (Marie), and nephew
Ryan.
Mike's love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did.
Outside of his professional life, Shenny enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including
Golf (being part of the Downriver mens club), Scuba Diving, youth hockey,
baseball, boxing, cooking, and traveling. He loved spending time with friends and
family, whether watching sports (GO Eags!), hanging out in the Garage Mahal, or
engaging in any activities that brought them together.
Shenny will be deeply missed by his loved ones, but his memory will live on
through the impact he made on those around him. His legacy of kindness, humor,
and camaraderie will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Shenny's life will be held to honor and remember the impact he
had on all who knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those
who were touched by his Love.
