Myron C
Wicks
June 3, 1940 – March 22, 2025
Myron Carson Wicks (Wink), age 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in his home March 22, 2025. Born on June 3, 1940, in Lewiston, Idaho, Myron was the son of Vernon Ellis and Iva Lucile Wicks. He was the third of six children: Jim, Virgil, Myron, Jack, Steve, and Linda.
In 1959, Myron graduated from Lewiston High School. He met his future wife, Barbara Ann Clarke, while she was in kindergarten, and they married on June 25, 1961, just one month after Barbara's high school graduation.
From 1961, Myron worked for the Idaho State Highway Department until 1967 when he accepted a job with Diamond Drill in Spokane, Washington. Shortly thereafter, he and Barbara purchased a home at Newman Lake where they lived together for 57 years, raising their four children.
Myron worked as a fabricator and machinist at Diamond Drill for 20 years. His unmatched work ethic led him to start Wicks Manufacturing, where specialized parts for the drilling, agriculture, and forestry industries were manufactured until he retired.
He loved sawmilling, sailing and playing his tuba. He had a pioneering spirit and lived simply. He was constantly dreaming and creating: spiral staircases, self watering Christmas tree stands, cranes, bridges, basketball hoops, and booms. He loved God's creation. All life was cherished, from people to birds, deer, cows, dogs, and trees.
Myron knew no strangers. He had a profound love of God. To the end, his love, patience, humbleness, and kindness provided us a glimpse of our Heavenly Father.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Wicks of Newman Lake, WA; his children, Myresa (Wicks) Boulware of Libby, MT, Marshall Wicks, Matthew Wicks and family of Spokane Valley, WA, and Malcolm Wicks and family of Newman Lake, WA; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, April 4th, at Valley Fourth Memorial Church, 2303 S. Bowdish Road.
