Obituary

Nancy Ahern was a musician, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed peacefully in Spokane, Washington on February 2, 2021 at the age of 84. She leaves behind three children, four grandchildren, and a sister, Marilyn.

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Everett and Lillian Knapp in 1936, Nancy graduated from Holy Angels Academy. After attending St. Catherine's College, she met husband John Ahern in Denver, Colorado. The pair married and moved to Spokane in 1963, where they raised children Carolyn, Michael and Brian. Nancy was a devoted mother, known for coordinating city transportation for her children, and adapting a book into a school play – all by hand.

A devoted wife and church-goer, Nancy was a parishioner at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She loved music, and was often found playing the piano and attending the Spokane Symphony. Her spirit will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Nancy was laid to rest next to her husband John at a private ceremony at Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Spokane.
