Patty Jean (Nelson) LaGasse was welcomed into heaven on December 8, 2023, completing a lifetime of joy, celebration, glamor, and class. In her wake she leaves a lasting legacy of family, love, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Born to Genevieve Agnes Ziemianski and Walter Charles Urbanowicz Nelson in Pennsylvania in 1937, Patty's childhood spanned many states but eventually she settled in Spokane, Washington where - surrounded by a strong community of sorority sisters, neighbors, and family - she spent the rest of her life. She married Charles LaGasse in 1957 and together they welcomed three children: Jill, Troy, and Jon.

Patty is preceded in the afterlife by her parents, her brother Walter, and her son, Troy. Her memory and impact on this world will continue to be cherished and carried on by her surviving children, Jill and Jon; her brother Paul Nelson and his family; 5 grandchildren: Kallie, Aubrey, Jack, Talon, and Katie, who will forever remember their "drop dead gorgeous grandma"; three great-grandchildren; and countless sorority sisters and dear friends.

A celebration of Patty's life will take place on June 10, 2024 at 1pm at Holy Cross Funeral and Cemetery in Spokane. Until then, cards of sympathy can be sent to her daughter, Jill Neal, at 411 Granite Ridge Road, Priest River, ID 83856.
