Paul D. McBride, age 81, from Spokane, WA passed away May 2, 2023 from aggressively
spread cancer.
Paul was born in Spokane on March 16, 1942 to Lee and Juanita McBride. Paul
graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and EWU in Business Administration.
While in college Paul worked at McBride Motor Co where he met his bride, Karen. As
newlyweds, Paul spent 3 years in the Army and upon honorable discharge returned to
Spokane, his job at the family business and completed college. When the car lot sold he
started his own business and was owner/operator of McBride Pump Co for many years.
His enjoyable retirement job was driving patients for an eye surgery clinic. Paul had
varied interests but all rooted in his deep passion for family, friends and caring for
others. He spent 20 years as a volunteer firefighter, 30 years as an elected Fire
Commissioner, many years volunteering with the Civic Theatre, Meals on Wheels and
the Blood Center. He loved his years with the Patch and Powder Clan and Backcountry
Horsemen.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife Karen (57 years of marriage). He is survived by
their two children Doug (Mary), Loree (Nate), grandchildren Cody, Paula, Cory, his
sisters Janice and Louise (Sandy), sister-in-law Kay, brother-in-law Jerry (Joyce), and
so many loving family and friends.
