February 15, 1936 – January 12, 2021
James Colling, 84, passed away on Jan 12, 2021 at Sante of Chandler, AZ, where he died of heart failure. He was born on February 15, 1936 in McCook, NB to Ralph P and Catherine Colling. The family moved to Spokane, WA where he graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1954.
After high school, he began his career with the telephone company (Pacific Northwest Bell) then later U. S. West retiring after 32years. He met the love of his life, Elaine Kraus of Wakaw, SASK (Canada) in 1960 they married and established residence in Spokane, WA. After retirement, Jim and Elaine decided to travel the United States in a motor home eventually settled in the winters at their home in Mesa, AZ and their summers in Spokane, WA.
Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine, daughters: Yvonne (Jim) Harmon, Tucson, AZ,
Carol Corbett, Spokane, WA, and four grandchildren: Michael and Steven Harmon, Rachel and Patrick Corbett. Brother and Sister-in-law Bill (Inge) Colling, Lakewood Co, sister Regina Kendall, St. Maries, ID
Many relatives from Canada and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was compassionate, charitable, and hardworking. He took pride in his craftsmanship always told his daughters to do the same. He also said the first step is the start of the longest journey, he took his first step on his journey to eternity on January 12, 2021.
