He retired in 2004. He and Katie enjoyed travelling and cruising. They were both members of various bowling leagues and Bob also enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and visiting family and friends, especially when there were casinos nearby. He earned many awards from the League that include Community Service, Distinguished Citizenship Bronze, Meritorious Commendation and his 35-year award. For the Military Order of the Devil Dogs, he was a past Pound Keeper and a Dog of the Year plus numerous Commendation Awards for his work with Toys for Tots and the League's highway Safety Coffee Shops where he and Katie volunteered countless hours serving goodies to weary travelers.
