Robert "Bob" Stauffer passed peacefully into his eternal reward in heaven on Tuesday, April 29th, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He will be warmly remembered for his unwavering Catholic faith and the many roles he cherished—as a devoted husband, loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend. Bob's family was the heart of his life; he loved them deeply and served as their steadfast protector and provider.
Bob was born in December 1966 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, where he spent his early years surrounded by family and community. He is survived by his devoted wife, Michelle, and children Alex, Joshua, Emma, and Naomi of Spokane WA, mother, Rita Stauffer, of Latrobe PA, brother Richard and his wife, Alice, of Woodbridge VA, and his brother John and his partner, Tammy, of Niskayuna, NY. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Richard Stauffer Sr, of Latrobe PA. He is also survived by his in-laws, Gerald and Mary Hill, of Post Falls ID and sister- and brother-in-laws, Mary and Todd Harris, of Eltopia WA, Linda Hill, of Santa Ynez CA, Susan and Dave Rinaldi, of Coeur d'Alene ID, and Barbara and Craig Chatterton, of Meridian ID. Finally, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces/nephews, and cousins. They will always remember his strong faith, kind nature, and sense of humor.
Bob's Catholic faith was deep, unwavering, and sincerely lived. His spiritual journey was nurtured through regular participation in Catholic men's retreats and conferences, where he found both inspiration and fellowship. A devoted member of the Knights of Columbus and a proud U.S. Army veteran, Bob embodied a life of service. Over the years, he made a lasting impact in his community through his compassionate work in various social work roles, touching countless lives along the way.
Holy Rosary will be offered at 7 PM on Monday, May 12th at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 7200 N. Wall, Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 13th at 10 AM at Mary Queen Catholic Church, and Interment will be held at Medical Lake Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, May 14th at 9:30 AM.
